Production Control Logistics / Materials Forklift Associate


This is a Contract position in Seneca, SC posted June 20, 2022.

Position Summary

Loads, unloads, moves materials, compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost and type of material received, stocked, and issued, maintains system transactions, within the plant or warehouse in a fast paced environment.

Standard Duties:

  • Materials Operators will be expected to safely perform, as needed, all tasks assigned by the Team Lead/Coordinator including all positions within the Physical Logistics department.
  • Support and drive self-development activities and department flexibility through learning multiple positions / roles in the Skills Matrix
  • Safely operates all equipment in the Materials Fleet including:
    • Sit-down Forklifts
    • Stand Up Lifts (Both Reach and Pacer)
    • Tuggers
    • Electric Jacks
  • Reads and understands work instructions and/or follows oral instructions to execute the material flow requirements.
  • Manually loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves on foot and by hand as required (see physical requirements).
  • Transports materials from storage or point of use work areas.
  • Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage of products in transit and identifies/corrects unsafe or damaged packaging conditions as needed.
  • Counts, weighs, and records opened/unsealed materials for accurate SAP transactions and labeling.
  • Accurately and timely enters materials transactional information into SAP and other systems as required.
  • Reads electronic and manual bill of materials, pull sheets, pick sheets to retrieve and deliver necessary materials for operations.
  • Support 5S / Housekeeping activities as required.
  • Use appropriate deviation areas, hold tags, to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure.
  • Loads/Unloads materials into trailers adhering to Dock Safety Protocol.
  • Perform Container management duties including: operation of wash equipment, manual load/unload of conveyors, stacking and organizing, tracking of dunnage.
  • Adherence to standard work procedures in addition to development and continuous improvement to the standards.
  • Meet physical logistics KPI (Safety, Internal / External Delivery, Logistics Quality, Cost (Scrap / HPUS), Associate Engagement and Teamwork)
  • Adherence to FiFo standards throughout all storage areas and material flow points.
  • Complete daily administrative duties, electronic paperwork as needed.
  • Conduct job area pre-flight/post flight, layered audits of equipment, job areas, systems, etc
  • Perform rework and de-rust activities.
  • Wear all required PPE and follow box cutting safety protocols.

Safety, Health and Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts.
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED required


  • 1 year of physical logistics related experience preferred.
  • SAP/ERP systems
  • Operation of PIT
  • Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Inventory software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
