Restoration Ecologist

This is a Full-time position in Mount Pleasant, SC posted May 11, 2022.

Biohabitats is seeking to hire a Restoration Ecologist with experience in planning, assessing, designing, and overseeing the construction of ecological restoration, nature-based design and green infrastructure projects throughout the US Southeast and Gulf coasts.

Experience with southeast coastal ecosystems is highly preferred (tidal wetlands, seagrass beds, mangroves, rivers, bottomland hardwood swamps, maritime forests, native grasslands, long-leaf pine forests, etc.).The candidate will join our Southeast Atlantic Bioregion team with an opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout the Southeast, with an initial focus on projects in and around South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

The candidate will work with our multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, landscape architects and GIS technicians to support biodiversity restoration, climate change adaptation, environmental justice and green infrastructure work for government, private and non-governmental organizations.We are looking for someone with strong communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills that can work well under pressure.

This position requires someone to be able to work both independently as well as in a highly collaborative design environment with engineers, landscape architects and other science-based disciplines.
