Architectural Drafter

This is a Contract position in Cayce, SC posted November 10, 2021.

Mungo Homes, a part of Clayton Properties Group, is searching for a Draftsperson to work out of our Irmo, SC office!

This position is responsible for generating and maintaining residential construction documents following company drawing standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (performs other duties as assigned)

• Produce residential constructions drawings (elevations, floor plans, foundation plans, construction details, electrical plans, etc.) complying with company drafting standards.

• Utilize AutoCAD LT for production of drawings. Requires proficiency using AutoCAD and its commands and the ability to use such things as model space, paper space, layer management and XREFs.

• Maintain plan library and update drawings as needed per code changes, design changes, added options, added elevations, etc. Must follow defined Plan Maintenance/Revision Process.

• Redline work performed by self and peers using defined redline process and accurately pickup redlines.

• Ensure the consistency, neatness and accuracy of plans produced.

• Work with field construction staff, engineers and building trades (primarily truss manufacturers) as needed.

• Periodic and as-needed site visits may be encouraged or required.

• Contact/correspondence with all levels of the organization during the new product release process and/or plan change release process.

• Create renderings and other materials used by Marketing.

• May create or maintain various spreadsheets or drawings used/referenced by other departments including but not limited to Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Land Development and Executive Staff.

• This position utilizes AutoCAD LT, SketchUp, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. BIM software skills may be needed.

• A more advanced level of this position requires the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and nonverbally. It also requires understanding of all responsibilities of the drafting department and how they impact and filter through to the company as a whole. A more advanced draftsperson also possesses higher levels of structural and construction knowledge.

• This position may collaborate in the design process and is always encouraged to share ideas.

Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of computerized design software

• Advanced experience with AutoCad (specifically Xrefs, Paper Space, & layer management)

• Experience with SketchUp is a plus (other BIM programs correlate/translate)

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
