Government Contract Manager

We are currently seeking high quality Government Contracting Specialists to assist FirstKem sales of industrial, aerospace and safety products.

In this Government Contracting Specialist role at FirstKem, you will be working with a portfolio that includes such products as high-quality abrasives, tapes, films, adhesives, chemicals and specialty materials for the manufacture, repair and maintenance of aircraft, ships, and other manufacturing processes. In addition to supporting the sales team, you will represent a myriad of innovative products and services that help companies improve their businesses locally and across the globe.

As a Government Sales Representative, you will be responsible to:

  • Assist sales management in reaching business plan goals.
  • Understand and achieve sales targets and objectives.
  • Sell industrial products such as: Abrasives, Tapes and Adhesives.
  • Solicit new government business through RFQ’s and long term contracts.
  • Understand government processes.
  • Understand government sales research sources.
  • Understand government branches, websites, codes and abbreviations.
  • Understand distributor business strategy.
  • Manage business planning and execution process.
  • Track and measure results against business plan.
  • Government order expediting and shipping.
  • Government order inspections.

Successful candidates will meet or exceed in the following requirements:

  • Experience selling in the government and military market arena.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and industrial products.
  • Knowledge of shipping methods and practices
  • Strong written skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Effectively works independently.
  • Creative problem solving.
  • Takes active role in self-development.
  • Experience with contracts and/or selling to the government.
