As an HR generalist, you will work with leaders and employees who provide day-to-day HR leadership and support in developing and delivering people strategies and business solutions. This role works with other parts of HR to align key business priorities and provide professional services. This role supports and collaborates with Plant Managers, Product Systems Managers, Platform Managers, HR, Employee and HR COE teams. The Mill HR Generalist assumes a leadership role within the manufacturing facility and reports directly to the facility’s HR Site Leader. Major customers include factories, branch management and its main customer base, branch management and all employees in the HR COE. The incumbent works closely with his product systems manager and is a member of his plant leadership team, which provides guidance and advice in the areas of employee relations, organizational effectiveness and talent development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Consulting
- Provide coaching for mill leadership, on onboarding, performance, and career development.
- Provide HR leadership to K-C special projects & corporate initiatives
- Provide business requirements and input to cascade people strategy
- Lead manager onboarding in partnership with the leader
- Following the climate survey on engagement and enablement work with leaders to diagnose and develop a plan for implementation
Talent Management & Learning (various client groups)
- Identify learning and development needs for Leaders and participate in planning process and implementation
- Supporting end-to-end performance management process for hourly workers
Organizational & Team Effectiveness (various client groups)
- Lead or contract for leader & team effectiveness interventions, ensure execution and measure results (includes team assimilation)
- Provide change management advice and support initiatives (program implementation & change initiatives)
Compensation Consulting (for client group)
- Identify business compensation needs and partner with COE to find solutions and/or provide compensation consulting to leaders, to attract and retain team members.
- Compensation Consulting for hourly workers (validate local survey data, developing recommendations for wage agreements within the context of the broader hourly compensation strategy as developed by the COE)
Talent Acquisition (for client group)
- Managing mill recruiting process (scheduling events, coordinating, and processing classes and tours
Reporting Analytics
- Compliance reporting (e.g. EEO)
Communication & Community Relations for client group
Organizational communication execution
Consult with leaders on event planning (e.g. family day, anniversaries) where applicable
Consult with leaders on community relations, volunteer, local sponsorships where applicable
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and a minimum of three years’ experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with coaching leaders, employee relations, and change management.
- Must have demonstrated capability in problem solving, conflict resolution and working within site culture.
- Ability to relocate for career growth opportunities within the KC HR Organization.
