Β Duties and Responsibilities:Β 

Required:

  • Work directly with and be responsible for the supervision of team leaders and operators
  • Fill in for the Production Manager as needed
  • Be actively engaged in and support a safety focused work environment by upholding the company’s safety guidelines and policies
  • Participate in incident investigations and assist in development and initiation of corrective and preventive actionsΒ 
  • Execute daily production plan byΒ establishing priorities, assisting with assigning personnel, monitoring progress, resolving problems, and reporting progress on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of significant customers’ product line in order to complete:
    1. Raw material requirements
    2. Raw material stagingΒ 
    3. Opening, assigning, recording consumption, rectifying, and closing batch jobs
    4. Printing and staging customer specific labels
    5. Updating and managing multiple computer inventory systemsΒ 
    6. Scanning, Labeling, and Quality checks of finished packaged product
    7. Interact directly with the customer to plan, update, and resolve production related issues
  • Maintain safe and clean work environmentΒ 
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental rules, laws, and regulations.
  • Follow up on maintenance needs to ensure safe and timely repairs
  • Interview, hire, and promote BMD production employees, including assisting with the onboarding process of new hires
  • Conduct annual reviews for staff performance
  • Provide and keep current training and certification of all employees in all production areasΒ 
  • Provide training and certify operators on job roles in all production areas of the plant.
  • Review applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on a regular frequencyΒ 
  • Complete other tasks as directed by management

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

Β 

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years’ experience in chemical production or related field or degreed equivalent
  • Strong commitment to safetyΒ 
  • Strong knowledge of organizational workflow and ability to delegate by assigning responsibilities
  • Knowledge of all essential equipment and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to generate and submit reports on performance and progress
  • Proficiency with computers and software, such as with Microsoft Office and RMP systems
  • Strong coaching and training skills to onboard new employees and train employees on all tasks
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and results-driven
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate in English

Preferred:

  • Experience in a PSM manufacturing environment
  • Experience with PLCΒ and/or DCS controls
  • Direct knowledge of specific manufacturing processes
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S
