Description
We have an immediate opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team! In this role, you will perform tasks such as inspecting manufactured products to ensure compliance and conformance to quality standards. This position will report to the Quality Manager.
Starting Pay : $18 per hour and based on experience.
Shift Times : 8:00 am-4:30pm Monday Friday (Occasional OT)

RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g., Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
Tasks
Inspects products for defects as described by quality standards. Focus is on distinguishing major/minor defect levels within regards to product fit/form/function.
Identifies and determines products as Pass or Fail based on Quality standards
Alerts and advises supervision of potentially defective products
Provides Pass/No-Pass samples for machine sample boards; provides sample parts for shift production meetings
Communicates daily with supervision to stay informed of current quality concerns
Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Conducts product quality audits per shift per machine; quality audits are performed in accordance to procedures.
Assists with ongoing re-inspections.
Departmental instructions may exist in which case expectations will be described in further detail.
Works with manufacturing to improve efficiency of inspection duties.
Enters data accurately into Excel or SPC software
Perform quality testing using laboratory measuring equipment Supports the Plants Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.
Participates in the implementation/adherence/administration of the GFSI/SQF Code, this position is an active member of the HACCP/Food Defense/Crisis Management Team. This position works with the structured team in to validate the GFSI/SQF Code, via meetings/training/monitoring/reporting, continued reviewing of food safety programs/systems/protocols in place.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Willingness to work and follow verbal/written instructions
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and SPC software
Ability to work safely, willingness to train in cross-functional areas, and work overtime as needed.
