Master Production Scheduler

ABC Technologies’ core business as an Automotive Tier 1 supplier is in the Design, Development and Production of plastic automotive systems and components for OEMs worldwide.

THE OPPORTUNITYThe Master Production Scheduler-ECN is responsible for scheduling a two-week rolling schedule, within CMS.

Based on customer requirements.

They are responsible for ensuring that the schedules are level loaded and are within capacity restraints.

They will champion engineering change breakpoints within the system to ensure a smooth transition avoiding potential obsolescence risks.

Responsibilities: WHAT YOU WILL DO:Maintain two weeks rolling schedule and react to any volatility from the end customer.

Ensure that all relevant staff members receive the production schedule.

Create and maintain a capacity requirement plan, that supports the master schedule.Monitor production progress daily and analyze data to identify causes of variances.Review and maintain Whiteboard Scheduler or scheduling tools used to drive procurement management established by ABC.

Plan, prepare, maintain, and report on the performance of the master schedule to ensure that it’s being adhere to daily.

Verify and maintain master schedule data and planning parameters in MRP system according to ABC guidelines.

Ensure production shortages are monitored prior to scheduling the line, by running component availability report for current/next day production schedule.

Create daily production schedules.

Support the demand planning team by validating that the MRP are showing the correct allocations.

Ensure that all relevant staff members receive the production schedule.Track production schedule attainment.

Supervise staff members to ensure that deadlines are met.

Advise the production supervisors of any production issues that might impact on the customer if not met.

Verify that safety stock levels of finished goods are maintained.

Prepare analyses for new product introduction (NPI) and end of life (EOL) products and review strategy with Buyer Planners, Commodity Buyers, GM, Production MGR and Engineering Change Coordinator to avoid obsolescence.

Provide administrative and technical support necessary to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of the Engineering Change Management System.

Maintain communications with other departments in the plant, as well as corporate engineering, to understand change level management and obsolescence avoidance.

This person will work very closely with the Inventory Control Analysis and ensure change point control is setup within our ERP system.

They are the key liaison and coordinator, between the business unit engineering change plan and the plant level.

They will coordinate implementation of all changes with production, materials, engineering, and quality departments.

Communications will be maintained with all appropriate stakeholders, engineering changes and customer requirements.

Retrieve and utilize engineering information such as drawings from the appropriate databases.

Prepare for and attend weekly engineering change meetings with the BU (Business unit).

The ECN coordinator is responsible for being engaged in program end dates and monitoring customer ramp down.

Part of this responsibility will include ensuring that all requirements from MRP are closely monitored, that no overage will occur once customer ramp-down is completed.

Once confirmed build out of program is concluded, the Engineering coordinator will be responsible for facilitating cycle count coordination of all finished goods, raw and components.

This will also include supplier sites that are under ABC’s responsibility per guidelines.

Obsolescence claims will be required to be submitted by the Engineering coordinator for any stock recovery required from the OEM’s.

Qualifications: WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLEMinimum Qualifications:Minimum 5 years functional experience in materials and inventory management Possess excellent communication skills to interact with co-workers, customers and suppliers.Solid experience in evaluating and analyzing risks associated with material planning and inventory management; hands-on experience in managing customer demand variations.Working knowledge of freight planning, lane optimization.Solid knowledge of ERP system/BI reporting.

Familiarity with computer applications and communications software.

Able to train people on IT systems.Working experience on continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain/plant operations settings.APICS /CPIM certification preferred Demonstrate planning and analytical skills; able to recommend and implement sustainable supply planning and inventory management solutions to drive operational performance improvements.Hands on experience in scheduling and inventory planning in an ERP system environment.
