Senior Manager for Packaging Development

As the company’s primary customer and manufacturing liaison for product design, and as a key member of the AmerCareRoyal Marketing Department’s Leadership Team, the Packaging Engineer (PE) contributes significantly to the functionality, performance of AmerCareRoyal’s portfolio of foodservice packaging, personal protective, and operational supply products.

Compensation

• $105,000 – $130,000 plus 10% bonus 

AmerCareRoyal offers competitive compensation plans; based on the candidates level of experience and will include participation in our corporate bonus and profit sharing plans. About the Position:

• Works with our commercial team (sales), our customers and our manufacturing partners to help deliver new or improved packaging solutions
• Studies and defines customer product functionality requirements, translating them into design concepts that match ACR’s business objectives and manufacturing capabilities
• Represents ACR as the company’s top technical representative, explaining capabilities and helping to overcome challenges that arise with product design or manufacturing faults
• Leads product development from concept-to-prototype-to-production and market launch as an addition to the product line
• Provides critical expertise to the Business’s Marketing and Sourcing decision-making processes as it relates to important product line management matters
• Supports the company’s sales capability by equipping our sales teams to be effective in uncovering potential packaging innovations that ACR can bring to its customers

 Packaging Engineer Job Duties

• Regular interaction with Sales Teams and large Key Account Customers to drive progress in product development opportunities at customer level
• Constant interface with ACR sourcing team and manufacturing network resources (factories) in North America and Asia on product design and production matters
• Work with ACR Supply Chain and Logistics Teams in proving expertise on back-end operational improvements – pallet configurations,, corrugate specifications, shipping optimization, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable on video calls with associates overseas at off-hours (to accommodate time zone differences)
• Able to travel internationally – semi-annual trip to Asia

Required Experience:

• BS degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent
• 7- 10 Years of relevant experience in packaging development in Food or Foodservice supplies industries
• Packaging Software skills: Cape, Tops, Artios, AutoCAD
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Asana, Visio, MS Project, etc.
