Product Development Assistant

Marolina Outdoor, Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Charleston, SC posted June 22, 2022.

POSITION SUMMARY: The PD assistant is an entry level role that can lead to future growth opportunities within Product Development, Sourcing or Production. The role will entail supporting the Director of Product Development & Sourcing in a variety of functions that are critical to maintaining the integrity of the product, maintaining overall adherence to our corporate calendar and contributing to the success and growth of both the Huk and Nomad brands.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the seasonal development binders with product information, approvals and updating them based on changes.
  • Prepare all approval to be passed to design.
  • Measure prototype and sales sample garments to compare specs to tech pack or another standard. Provide summary reporting to Director on appropriate measurement sheet using both whole numbers and fractions.
  • Collect garments to be sent to the vendor base or receive in garments to Charleston from that vendor base and provide all summary written instructions or details with an exceptionally clear level of detail and accuracy.
  • Take notes as needed in Design and Product Development meetings in order to ensure accurate summaries of all agreed upon issues and document as needed.
  • Participate in video conferences and calls with vendor community as needed. Some evening calls will be required with Asia.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects and assignments according to business and department needs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good basic math skills, must be able to add and subtract with fractions.
  • Strong computer skills- Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe suite
  • College graduate or appropriate work experience
