Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

  • Manage day to day operations of the warehouse.
  • Establish inventory goals for all raw and work-in-process materials to meet business needs and minimize risk of obsolete material.
  • Maintain accurate facility inventory data at all times.
  • Order/stock and maintain all raw materials to support business product demand plan.
  • Conduct all cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Lead annual physical plant inventory.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a system to accurately, clearly, and easily communicate material inventory levels to include work-in-process, raw, and finished goods.
  • Assume primary responsibility for driving process improvement in the area of material flow

  • Ability to supervise/lead the work of others
  • Very well organized, detail oriented
  • Leadership, self starter, independent thinker, able to work with limited supervision
  • Proficient in the use, capabilities, and operation of the JD Edwards One-World and Manugistics system.
  • Experienced in the application, benefits, and operation of visual-based inventory systems-KANBAN
  • Strong computer skills(spreadsheet, power point, general presentation software)
  • Process thinker-must be able to summarize activities and issues on multiple projects, organize meetings and support materials, summarize key gaps and necessary actions
  • 3+ years Inventory Control/Logistics role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
