Purchasing Buyer

Job description

We are seeking a driven and detailed-oriented purchasing buyer that is primarily responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. Management of vendors and monitoring the flow of goods and services for our laboratory. Quality, on-time delivery and cost management are critical components of the purchasing buyer. This position will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decision based on demand. The buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiation skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Must have a minimum of four years of experience in purchasing and supply chain with medical buying experience.

Responsibilities

• Source materials and packaging based on quality, cost and availability.
• Monitor supplier approval process and maintain performance records.
• Place orders, generate purchase orders from ERP system and confirm. purchase orders for products, packaging, raw materials and equipment.
• Help implement procedures and policies for department.
• Negotiate and obtain contractual pricing from vendors.
• Create reports on sales, budgets and customer satisfaction and adjust your strategies accordingly.
• Maintain pricing updates in system.

Education and/or Experience

• BA degree required.
• Four plus years of related business experience and/or associated purchasing and supplier management training within a medical device manufacturing environment or Reference Laboratory is highly desirable.
