Requirements Senior Statistical Analyst, Office of Assessment and Decision Support
– Georgetown University Georgetown’s Office of Assessment and Decision Support (OADS) provides leadership and coordination in data collection and analysis, institutional research, and assessment in support of University planning, the continuous improvement of educational programs, and the achievement of University mission and goals.

Job Overview The Senior Statistical Analyst provides leadership for advanced statistical analyses across the university, with a particular focus on financial modeling; and provide expertise in cross-functional data and information systems to deliver actionable analyses to drive business processes around finance, operations, and human resources.

They serve as the University authority and institutional knowledge leader on financial strategic analytics at Georgetown.

The Senior Statistical Analyst designs and carries out quantitative strategic analytics projects that employ advanced statistical techniques (e.g., multivariate analysis, linear and non-linear modeling, longitudinal data analysis, trend analysis, and machine learning), and communicates findings to a variety of internal and external audiences.

They work closely with executive leadership and the Office of the Provost
– Finance and Business Services to support their analytical, operational and financial data needs.

The Senior Statistical Analyst integrates predictive analytics into financial management processes and operations by developing a strategic agenda for the use of data throughout the budget and financial decision making life cycle.

They identify opportunities for improvement in business strategies related to financial management along with providing recommendations about types of data necessary to make such improvements.

The Senior Statistical Analyst also collaborates with OADS and Office of the Provost leadership to set the overall strategy for institutional analytics and data-informed decision making across the University.

They collaborate with other Georgetown offices on research design, quantitative analysis methods, and communication strategies.

Work Interactions Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Institutional Data Analytics, the Senior Statistical Analyst works closely with the entire OADS, and interacts with senior and executive leadership of the Main Campus, senior and departmental business managers, University Information Services (UIS), Student Financial Services, Human Resources, and Financial Affairs.

Other interactions include: Works collaboratively with colleagues and staff in OADS, sharing and exchanging ideas, information and analytical techniques Exchanges, analyzes, and interprets information requiring various approaches to influence others, including Provost office leadership, unit-heads, deans, department chairs, administrative and technical staff, campus peers and peers at professional organizations (COFHE, AIR, NEAIR), federal government agencies (NCES) Works closely with college/school leadership to develop statistical and financial models and effective analytics tools customized to individual settings Works with faculty and other University leadership in research consulting services related to strategic analytics projects and assessment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is required
– Master’s degree or PhD preferred At least 5 to 7 years of experience in applied quantitative research or a closely related field Strong project management skills Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in the preparation of analytical and interpretive institutional research reports Ability to organize and communicate research findings effectively and a knowledge of applied statistical methods Familiarity with standard software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.

Ability to work independently yet cooperatively within a service-oriented team environment Excellent communication skills and the abilities to acquire and share new knowledge and skills and adapt to a rapidly evolving data environment Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification Demonstrated expertise with statistical analysis, data management, visualization software and research tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, Python, SQL, Tableau, COGNOS, and Qualtrics Thorough understand and expertise in quantitative research design and methods Data warehousing and similar high-level integrative skills, as well as experience with low code application development environments (e.g.

Quickbase) preferred Work Mode: Telework.
