Modular Millwork

Lab Sales Manager Position


Based in Greer, SC, Modular Millwork is a 26-year-old designer and manufacturer of high-quality, modular workroom furniture, lockers, cabinetry casework and sophisticated mail and parcel systems. The Company primarily serves laboratories, educational institutions, healthcare providers, government institutions, general contractors and other commercial businesses. Modular Millwork services industry leading firms and institutions such as Google, Amazon, Tulane University, United Health Group, Clemson University, Microsoft and Cisco Systems. 

We are seeking a Lab Sales Manager with a positive collaborative work style to join our Commercial Furniture Dealer Sales Team. Sales executives are the source for managing existing accounts and bringing new business via cold calling, networking and referrals. Excellent project management skills are required for this customer service-oriented position. The Lab Sales Manager will be established as the main contact between the client and Modular Millwork. The responsibility for managing accounts beings with identifying business and continues through the completion of the work and collection of receivables. It is the job of the Lab Sales Manager to continue to nurture the relationship of existing customer to identify future opportunities. While the Company is based in Greer, SC we are open to candidates in the located in the South East region.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Manage Modular Millwork’s relationship with the customer and be the expert by taking a consultative approach
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting, and contact information
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on all assigned accounts
  • Provide sales support to meet customer needs
  • Proactively contribute to strategic account planning and customer performance review meetings
  • Coordinate activities of team members to ensure that the most efficient, appropriate solutions are utilized
  • Work with team members as needed on projects to resolve any customer issues
  • Ensure proper documentation for the account is maintained
  • Work with our accounting team to ensure accurate billing and timely collection of your accounts

Job Expectations

  • Achieve annual sales goal as established
  • Track key accounts and sales activities via company’s CRM system
  • Candidate is self-directed, takes initiative, resourceful; good problem-solving ability and follow through
  • Work necessary hours to support customer requirements
  • Assume leadership role for assigned accounts
  • Cultivate internal communication network to facilitate account work completion to meet customer needs, budget, and timeline
  • Set an example for other team members
  • Increase customer satisfaction on assigned accounts
  • Contribute to strategic account planning efforts
  • Proactively search for ways to increase profit, reduce costs, and improve the efficiency of projects
  • 25-50% Travel

Education & Experience

  • Lab design experience/background or furniture dealership experience preferred
  • Selling to construction and/or architecture & design and sister industries a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years sales experience with measurable success, preferably with business-to business exposure
  • Good understanding of contract furniture management at the dealer level – account servicing, project management, order preparation, order management, factory interface, delivery & installation, including sale’s role in those processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Proven organizational and follow-through skills
  • Proven leadership ability skills
  • BA/BS Degree preferred
