PLM-CAD Manager

DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for leading the integration, administration, and management of all CAD software packages, standards, and document management solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Serve as administrator of PDM/PLM software (Windchill)

• Lead project to investigate PLM software solutions.
• Create and maintain user accounts, roles, profiles, & teams.
• Develop and maintain document workflows.
• Develop and maintain change management processes.
• Lead project teams to update, check, and migrate legacy CAD documents to the current PDM system.

Lead CAD Automation Efforts

• Develop and maintain automation within CAD packages.
• Develop and maintain automation to link PDM/PLM & ERP systems and processes.
• Customize settings and software as needed to support engineering process improvement.

Support CAD Software Tools

• Serve as administrator of all CAD software tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, Esko)
• Constantly evaluate software needs and software solutions available in the marketplace.
• Negotiate with software suppliers on licensing and service contracts.
• Install and upgrade software as needed.

Support CAD Users

• Develop and maintain drafting standards & best practices for CAD packages.
• Create and cultivate an interactive group of CAD users that meet regularly to share ideas.
• Develop, coordinate, & administer training on CAD software, automation programs, PDM/PLM systems, and/or document management within ERP system.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 10+ years direct experience with 2D & 3D CAD modeling; Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD preferred.
• Significant experience with the installation, implementation, administration, and maintenance of PDM/PLM systems; Windchill preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of document control, data integrity, data security, and long-term data storage.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with CAD automation and/or integration with manufacturing.
• Prior experience with computer programming is a plus; C#, VB.net, VBA, ABAP preferred.
