JOB SUMMARYย 

The mission of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to support the Health Centerโ€™s clinical and clerical operations. As directed by the provider and Clinical Operations Manager, the LPN assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures. The LPN is responsible for administrative tasks for the Health Center and may assist the Patient Advocate in employee engagement and outreach.ย ย 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย ย 

  • Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers in accordance with our service delivery standards and core valuesย ย 

  • Prepare patients to be seen by the provider through triage, assessment, treatment procedures, and follow-up informationย ย 

  • Perform tests such as selected laboratory tests, EKGโ€™s, Spirometry, inhalation treatments, annual physicals, visual screening, audiometry testing, and CLIA-waived testingย ย 

  • Prepare medications and administer injections as ordered by the providerย ย 

  • Assist providers with procedures and treatments as neededย ย 

  • Consult with patients by telephone addressing concerns or instructions from the providerย ย 

  • Sanitize and clean examining rooms between patientsย ย 

  • Check expiration dates on drugs, vaccines, and other products; dispose of expired medications and products per company guidelinesย ย 

  • Demonstrate a willingness to work with other providers as deemed necessaryย ย 

  • Manage the overall Health Center inventory and supply managementย ย 

  • Partner with the Patient Advocate to assist with patient engagement/outreachย ย 

  • Participate in meetings and in services as requested by the Clinical Operations Managerย 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESย 

Required:โ€ฏโ€ฏย 

  • Current LPN license in good standingย ย 

  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start dateย 

  • Strong organization and communication skillsย ย 

  • Knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and electronic medical records.ย ย 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgroundsย 

  • Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordinglyย 

  • Knowledge of HIPPA confidentiality requirementsย 

Preferred:ย 

  • 1+ year(s) of experience as an LPN.ย 


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSย 

This job primarily operates in a medical office environment and is required to interact with patients for the majority of the workday. The physical demands to perform the essential functions of this job are:ย 

  • Effective communication, mobility, ability to operate office equipment and travel intermittently throughout the day.ย ย 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at their work area for prolonged periods of time.ย 

  • Employee will occasionally be required to lift office products and supplies up to 20-30 pounds.ย ย 

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKย 

This role is considered a full-time, non-exempt position. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on the schedule of the individual health and wellness center.ย ย 

TRAVELย 

Infrequent, domestic travel may be required and should be expected to be less than 20% of the positionโ€™s overall responsibilities.ย ย
