The MRO Buyer is responsible for procuring non-raw material maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) materials and services for AFL Telecommunications LLC US, Mexico and Canada operations. Responsibilities include vendor management including supervision of service contractors in cooperation with Maintenance, Manufacturing, EHS and Management as needed, documenting cost savings, and reporting as required.

Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services in a timely manner through the use of Oracle and Low Value
- Procurement card.
- Deliver assigned supply chain objectives in support of annual BU plan, while balancing material
- availability against cost.
- Utilize vendors across BU lines to provide maximum consistency, lowest cost and maximum leverage.
- Interface with vendors with respect to price, availability of materials, and lead time, including team development and execution of vendor supply agreements.
- Ensure that problems relating to pricing, delivery or quality are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner.
- Achieve, document and report on actual cost savings achieved via vendor management, sourcing, contract negotiations, and leverage buys.
- Assist in the Supplier Quality evaluation program to drive continuous improvement using a method specifically tailored to identify areas of improvement.
- Work with Corporate EHS group to ensure EHS requirements are met by vendors.
- Manage service contractors including direct supervision as required. β’ Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.

Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree, or 4+ years of experience
- 2+ years of MRO procurement experience including a working knowledge of MRO items (ability to work directly with customers and vendors to determine need)
- 2 years of contractor management experience
- Advanced skills using Excel and Access required, experience with Oracle preferred
- Strong procurement background including vendor management and negotiation
- Strong knowledge of MRO items

- Primarily normal office environment.
- Work with manufacturing personnel and vendors in manufacturing facilities as required.
- Minimal travel may be required.
