The Columbia VA Health Care System is a tertiary care teaching hospital providing the highest-level quality complex care with services ranging from cardio-thoracic and neurosurgery to primary and mental health care. We have a medical research program for approximately 91,000 Veterans across South Carolina. This health care system includes a full range of inpatient and outpatient care. Dorn VAMC is affiliated with the University of South Carolina (USC) School of Medicine and provides teaching services for students and residents. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Administrative oversight of the Columbia VA Health Care System Medicine Service.
• Direct supervision of Hospitalist Section physicians and advanced practice providers at Columbia VA Health Care System
• Initiation and oversight of inpatient quality improvement efforts at Columbia VA Health Care System
• Direct management of inpatients admitted to the Columbia VA Health Care System
• Clinical oversight of advanced practice providers
• Night and weekend coverage of inpatient medical teams as needed in emergent situations

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm (Subject to change based on agency needs).
