Job Responsibilities

About Human Trafficking
Will serve as a member of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) & Human Trafficking team by assisting the section with human trafficking-related matters and will serve as a liaison to regional task forces and the State Task Force Healthcare and Direct Services for Adults Subcommittees. Responsibilities include supporting the larger efforts of the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force through the execution of its strategic response plan. Assist with initiatives as well as the expansion of programming to support victims of human trafficking, ensure public awareness and outreach efforts, and increase data collection to inform the development of future services for victims and survivors. Will request, receive, review, and process various documents for the State Task Force. Assist with professional training and prevention education. Support state task force subcommittees, regional task forces, and partner organizations in their efforts to prevent and respond to human trafficking in South Carolina. Will assist with other assigned duties and projects upon request.

  • Support the efforts of assigned State Task Force Subcommittees.
  • Support the efforts of regional task forces in the assigned strategic response area.
  • Assist with developing and implementing sector-specific training that aligns with assigned subcommittees and the identified needs.
  • Provide presentations and training as requested by community stakeholders within your assigned strategic response area of the state.
  • Lead assigned statewide anti-human trafficking initiatives.
  • Support other statewide anti-human trafficking initiatives.
  • Foster relationships within assigned strategic response area with community stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience addressing issues related to anti-human trafficking efforts and the healthcare field.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.Β 

Additional Requirements:

  • This position may require overnight travel.
  • This position may require the employee to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Organized with a demonstrated ability to work independently.Β 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.Β 
  • Comfortable with presenting to large groups.Β 
  • Communicate effectively in multiple professional settings while exercising sound judgment and discretion.Β 
  • Able to collaborate with varied stakeholders.Β 
  • Familiar with MS Office, presentation products, and Adobe Illustrator. Β  Β
