We are hiring for the following:

Position:    Registered Nurse Part Time (1 Day per week, for 8 hours)

Location:   Kershaw County Detention Center, Camden, SC

Pay Rate:   $38 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, facility policies, MEDIKO protocols, and professional Nursing standards
• Provide Nursing services and patient care appropriately
• Screen patients to learn medical history and assess current complaints to help prepare Physician for H&Ps.
• Implement all physician orders, including medication administration; document all patient encounters promptly and properly
• Assist Physician or PA/Nurse Practitioner during examination and treatment; prepare equipment as necessary
• Oversee the work of Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses
• Observe all requirements necessary to protect private health information per HIPAA
• Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures in the event of emergency or crisis situation and assist as procedures warrant
• Observe security standards for medications, supplies, and equipment
• Conduct professional encounters with patients, visitors, medical personnel, and corrections staff, with professionalism

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program; BSN degree preferred
• Active South Carolina license as Registered Nurse, or hold RN from another jurisdiction that participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact
• Most hold active CPR/BLS prior to start date, and maintain certification throughout employment 
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care setting, emergency room or correctional setting very helpful
