Serve as the Naval Health Clinic Charleston (NHCC) Safety and Occupational Health Specialist ensuring a safe and healthy work environment is provided for personnel and a safe environment of care is maintained for patients and visitors.
Review proposed equipment procurement requests to ensure the appropriate safety measures are taken.
Manage Safety and Occupational Health programs in accordance with OSHA, OPNAV and BUMED requirements
Conduct surveys of facilities and operations to evaluate the effectiveness of safety standards and practices to assess the degree of compliance with applicable mandates, standards, and directives.
Analyze mishaps and hazardous conditions to determine where it originated and the cause and contributing factors followed by written reports regarding the findings
Provide safety training and education activities, promoting safety awareness through councils, courses and online training.
Advise the Command on local policies and regional planning involving safety, health, and environmental issues.
