Overview:Β The Transportation Dispatch Analyst coordinates the scheduling and dispatching of drivers, acting as the central communication point for drivers and closely collaborating other teams. This role includes processing driver payroll, data entry, administrative tasks, and generating reports for management.

Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and dispatch outbound truckload shipments, working closely with Sales, Transportation, and Drivers

  • Dispatch drivers and assist with load rejections or shortages.

  • Receive both emergency and non-emergency calls, recording significant information and coordinating driver schedules.

  • Processes weekly driver payroll to include, detention, flat rate, and driver reimbursements.

  • Data entry and recordkeeping such as backhaul info, truck/trailer repairs, CSA, Drug and Alcohol results, and new driver info.

  • Administration and monitoring duties including calendar for time-off requests, Prepass, sign-on/referral bonus.

  • Prepare and update reports such as Toll violations, and Penske distance and miles as well as running transportation board.

  • Efficiently communicate and update other departments such as safety, for accident reports, and customer service.

  • Coordinate with the shop and management to set up truck/equipment tows.

  • Train new dispatchers and provide cover during emergencies or vacations.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in a dispatch role.

  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to develop strong and loyal relations.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently under pressure.

  • Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel and other basic office systems; willingness to learn internal dispatch systems.

  • Knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is preferred.

  • Experience with McLeod Software, reefer operations, and Sysco Manhattan for backhaul billing is a plus.
