Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Haile Gold Mine Operation near Kershaw, South Carolina as the WarehouseΒ OfficerΒ role. OceanaGold Haile Gold Mine continues to be at the forefront of developing opportunities for business and personal development.

Β The role:

Responsible for the receipt, recording, and disbursement of a wide variety of warehouse goods. Must be sufficiently knowledgeable about products and locations to service requisitions with minimum delay. Uses a manual or terminal based inventory system.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Transport goods and supplies on site, or to other sites, or to customers, working
  • within established procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
  • Deliver simple warehouse and store tasks to ensure all goods and supplies are
  • stored and recorded following established procedures.
  • Complete routine packaging tasks and assist others by following established procedures under supervision.
  • Perform simple inventory control tasks and checks on quantities, quality, and
  • availability against records following established inventory control procedures.
  • Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting one or more variables to
  • achieve efficiency.
  • Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting on letters, memoranda
  • and routine reports.
  • Work according to an assigned schedule.
  • Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out
  • to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
  • Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
  • Develop and maintain excellent skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Complete allocated tasks to the required standards of accuracy and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
  • Associates degree preferred
  • High attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
  • Experience with warehouse methodologies and processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to details.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements:

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  2. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
  3. Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
  4. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
