Accounting Associate

Description of Position

The Accounting Associate will support the company’s financial functions by managing daily payment activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic working knowledge of general accounting procedures, bookkeeping, and data entry, including AP/AR

• Review and process weekly payments to vendors and special payments to vendors throughout the month within established policies; Resolve invoice discrepancies promptly; Ensure payments are current by thoroughly monitoring accounts

• Demonstrate ability to prepare and process monthly sales tax and annual 1099s as needed

• Monitor banking balance and transactions daily; Balance credit card statements, post journal entries, and process regular deposits and delivery to bank

• Process confidential credit applications

• Balance new equipment inventory and fixed assets

• Other administrative duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring compliance

Requirements of the Positions

• Education & Certification – Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field

• Recommended Work Experience – 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable entry; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and accounting software; Experience using QuickBooks preferred

• Physical Demands – Prolonged sitting, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, keying, reaching, grasping, reading, speaking, and listening
