Coordinates, develops and assists counties administer maintenance procurement contracts for District 6. Assures proper specifications are included in contracts and monitors contracts' performance. Β Contracts include, but not limited to base repair, crack seal, drainage structures, concrete structures, pavement markings, guardrail, drainage pipe, fencing, and raised pavement markings. Β Coordinates American Disability Act (ADA) improvements in District 6. Β Attends all maintenance pre-construction conferences and final inspections. Assists DME with investigations Β and resolution of roadway related issues and complaints. Β Meets with property owners, municipal, county, state and federal officials regarding issues and complaints. Β Assists DME with special projects and the performance of their duties as assigned.Β Oversees the execution of the Business Plan. Β Plans include, but not limited to shoulders and ditches, Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM), guardrail, and signs. Β Compiles and updates monthly reports. Β Coordinates with the counties in accomplishing their plans.Β Provides direct oversight and management of the District budgets. Β Assists the DME with the annual budgets and review of purchase orders and requisitions.Β Monitors and coordinates the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) for District 6. Β Provides direct and indirect support as needed.Β Assists the DME with the implementation and the operation of the emergency plans for hurricane, snow and ice, and debris removal.Β Assists DME with review of environmental programs, internal and external environment inspections of facilities. Attends county monthly safety meetings. Assists DME with providing investigation, review, and recommendations on personnel actions according to department guidelines, rules, regulations and policy.Β Coordinates the addition and removal of roads from the State Highway System in District 6. Attends CTC meetings and monitors programming and funding of CTC activities.Β Oversees the execution of the district leveling, paving, and chip seal program. Reviews scheduling, conducts field inspections of paving operations and makes recommendations for improvements.Β Performs other related duties as assigned.
A bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and six (6) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
Physical Requirement: The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. This position may require travel. This position may require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. This position required driving and walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies. This position may be exposed to outside environment in all weather conditions and noise.
A motor vehicle operatorβs license is required.
