Areas of responsibility include 32 bed, adult ICU and 16 bed Progressive Care Unit
Care for patients on ventilators, CRRT, Impella's, Intra-aortic Balloon pumps to name a few.
Open heart surgery and TAVR program, Level I STEMI and Level I Stroke hospital.
Patient population includes respiratory and cardiac arrests, sepsis, kidney failure, vascular and thoracic surgeries, craniotomies, craniectomies, ventrics, chiari's, AVM's, hemorrhagic and embolic strokes.
Prefer candidate with previous ICU Educator background and proven leadership skills

Job Summary
The Nurse Educator in a professional member of the health care team providing educational support to staff that direct care to patients and assists in the standardization of patient education practices. This educator administers, organizes, and conducts training and education programs in concert with employee orientation, mandatory/required training, in-services, continuing education, on-the-job training, quality assessment, evidence-based practice projects, and process improvement projects. The Nurse Educator maintains records of orientation, in-service, training activities, and is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and administering all aspects of competency validation
Job Responsibilities
Designs curricula which support departmental education needs and nursing practice that reflect current trends in the health-care environment and organizational priorities.
Implements programs to meet staff development goals, objectives, competencies, and outcomes by utilizing a variety of innovative and creative teaching strategies to meet individual and group learning needs.
Serves as a clinical expert, consultant, and supervision within the critical care areas
Utilizes current research findings or evidence-based practice in curriculum development following the evidence-based model.
Pursues research opportunities to enhance and/or maintain professional self-development and professional nursing practice.
Maintains membership in a national specialty organization.
Participates in educational programs for the community annually through hospital or community events.
Actively participates in department, hospital and system wide committees, taskforce and initiatives Participate in relevant accreditation readiness.
Assist with promoting and maintaining interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork through effective lines of communication and participation with other departments and disciplines
Participates in meeting goals and objectives of assigned areas, professional development and institutions that are evidence based and fiscally sound.
Demonstrate ability to anticipate trends and challenges, or problem areas, and recommend appropriate actions
Follows and performs all related unit specific policies and procedures, as detailed on the unit specific competency checklist.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelorβs Degree β Nursing
5+ Yearsβ Experience
No Supervisor Experience
Licenses/Certifications: Missouri RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Combined 10 years of ICU/PCU experience
Education: Masterβs degree in nursing or related healthcare field
Board certification in a nursing specialty relevant to the educator role (such as CCRN, PCCN, or CEN)
