The Position:
The Director of Infusion Services will be a highly visible and strategic leader within the organization. The Director of Infusion Services will be responsible for establishing an overall program and the necessary processes to best manage and grow infusion programs managed by AHG. The Director of Infusion Services will collaborate with AHG VP of Operations and VP of Quality & Patient Safety to identify opportunities to deliver high-quality infusion services to our patients, to operate existing infusion services more efficiently, and to foster financial growth of the AHG infusion service line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โข ย Develop and communicate the clinical, operational, and financial direction for infusion services within AHG medical group.
โข ย Continuously coach and educate AHG providers and employees by providing information, data, and examples of identified internal & external best practices.
โข ย Formulate and recommend standards for policies related to infusion services to undergo the approval process; ensure implementation of all approved policies.
โข ย Proactively identify and communicate any future changes in infusion medications, infusion reimbursement, and infusion delivery to VP of Operations, VP of Quality & Patient Safety, and infusion team members.
โข ย Manage and continue to grow the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the AHG infusion services business.
โข ย Determine competency and assessment needs, teaming with practice administrators to facilitate, educate, and implement among infusion team members; plan and oversee on-boarding of new infusion staff to ensure that infusion-specific training and developmental goals and objectives are met.
โขย Keep up-to-date on federal, state and local government regulations and guidelines related to infusion services to ensure compliance.
โข ย Maintain positive relationships with third party service providers.
โข ย Acquire general knowledge of the reimbursement methodology for infusion services, as well as the processes necessary to secure authorization for infusion services.
โข ย Negotiate & establish working relationships with infusion drug manufacturers, wholesalers, and other equipment, supply and service providers.
โข ย Design and manage internal processes and external third-party relationships to achieve maximum clinical, operational, and positive financial impact
โข ย Evaluate and identify opportunities to improve infusion suite clinical performance, patient experience, and operational efficiency
โข ย Implement, and design where necessary, infection control processes per federal and state regulations.
โขย Implement, and design where necessary, standard infusion therapy practice (e.g. vascular access, evidence-based practice, medication-specific infusion protocol, patient education, informed consent, clinical documentation, etc.)
โข ย Lead by example, complete annual clinical training, prioritize patient safety in all infusion duties, exhibit a professional and positive outlook in the working environment.
โข ย Visit AHG infusion suites as necessary to assess clinical competencies, implement processes, and oversee quality of patient care organization-wide.
โข ย Assist in leading industry accreditation application(s) such as National Infusion Center Association (NICA) Standards of Excellence for Ambulatory Infusion Centers.
Minimum Qualifications:
โข Bachelors of Science, Nursing or Associate in Nursing with experience
โข Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program and license in the state(s) of practice preferred.
โข Demonstrated regulatory competence in meeting standards โ HIPAA,
HEDIS, OSHA, CDC, FDA, and state specific nursing scope of practice
โข 5 years or more experience in an Infusion Center in a healthcare facility or an ambulatory suite.
โข 5 years or more experience in a managerial role.
โข Experience leading a team in a high paced environment.
โข Experience working with medical payers such as Medicare, Medicaid,
and commercial insurance.
โข Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
