Position Responsibilities

  • Execute and uphold the Discipleship vision, values, and standards to create a culture that teaches, models, and coaches others to live in an everyday relationship with Jesus. Develop the Discipleship ministry using the strategy, resources, and training of NewSpring Church.
  • Pastor a Discipleship Lead Team at the Greenville campus who will develop and shepherd all volunteers within the ministry, meeting with them regularly as a team and in 1:1s. Uphold standards for initial and ongoing training of volunteers, using the resources provided by Discipleship Support.
  • Work with Discipleship Support and Greenville campus leadership to localize ministry appropriately, provide feedback, and collaborate on the following:
    • Consistent corporate discipleship offerings, including groups and classes.
    • Personal care and practical needs, including baptism, prayer, pre-marital mentoring, financial assistance, and financial coaching.
  • Oversee pastoral care for the campus, including weddings, funerals, and home, hospital, or jail visits.
  • Oversee Outreach partnership onboarding and the maintaining of integrity of relationship with local organizations.
  • Use internal systems (Rock, etc.) to track metrics, keep accurate records, record volunteer teams, manage events, and shepherd people.

Qualifications

  • Do whatever it takes to help the church reach its mission to see everyone, everywhere in an everyday relationship. Occasionally this will mean performing duties and tasks outside of your normal job responsibilities.
  • Uphold Biblical priorities in life, in the order outline below:
    1. Growing personal relationship with Jesus
    2. Relationship with spouse (if married)
    3. Relationship with children (if applicable)
    4. Purpose in life/ministry
  • Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of NewSpring Church staff members, as defined by the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  • Financially support the vision of NewSpring Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
