  • Maintains a minimum caseload of fourteen (14) clients/families (depends on required weekly hours).
  • Provides early intervention services in the natural environment (i.e., home, daycare, community settings, etc.) to infants and toddlers from three to six years old with developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognition, language/communication, gross and fine motor, social, and self-help development.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with families based on trust and respect and provides supportive assistance to families.
  • Works with families and caregivers to develop functional Family Service Plan (FSP) goals or outcomes.
  • Monitors FSPs in accordance with DDSN’s policies and procedures.
  • Schedules, develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the FSP for each family on caseload, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed as established by policies and procedures established by DDSN.
  • Designs the child’s learning environment and plans activities to encourage the acquisition of age-appropriate skills.
  • Works with family members and caregivers to create learning opportunities throughout the child’s day.
  • Provides coaching and support to families and caregivers to enhance child’s ability to benefit from learning opportunities in the natural environment.
  • Conducts family and child assessments that drive individualized service delivery.
  • Takes detailed notes and writes reports on child’s development and progress.Β 
  • Coordinates services provided to the client/family by on-going information sharing through participation in interagency meetings, telephone calls and/or face to face contact with other FSP team members or outside agencies.
  • Assists in the child and family gaining access to health care, community resources, services, and/or funding sources to help meet their needs.
  • Provides families with information on current trends and practices related to the needs of their child.
  • Provides linkage, referral, advocacy, service planning, and crisis support as needed.
  • Functions as a member of the child’s interdisciplinary team, shares information, and consults with other professionals.
  • Assists families in establishing their role as an advocate for their child.
  • Submits accurate and timely routine documentation (clinical service notes) as required by DDSN’s and KIDS’ policies and procedures.
  • Ensures client records are accurately maintained, organized, and kept up-to-date as required by DDSN’s and KIDS’ policies and procedures.
  • Attends all KIDS staff meetings and/or other meetings and trainings as required by the Executive Director or EI Program Director.
  • Must be willing to travel established territory as needed.
  • Performs other duties as designated by the Supervisor of Over Three Services, EI Program Director, or Executive Director.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas:

  1. Education:Β  Early Childhood, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education
  2. Child/Human Development
  3. Interdisciplinary Studies (with approval from BabyNet State Office): with a focus in Early Childhood, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education
  4. Child Life
  5. Communication Disorders (does not require SLP licensure)
  6. Family Studies/Family and Consumer Sciences
  7. Psychology

And (): Β At least one year of documented experience working with infants and toddlers OR working with children ages birth to 5 years with disabilities.Β  Β 

Must submit an application to the Team for Early Childhood Solutions (TECS) office and meet requirements for the South Carolina Infant-Toddler Credential.

PREFERRED: At least one year of experience with South Carolina's BabyNet Early Intervention Program.
