The Sonographer greets and confirms patients, assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure, explains procedures, length and expectations along with desired results; properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient of what they may expect during actual imaging; selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure, based on body habits, pathology and body parts; processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality; continues to develop professionalism through continuing education programs and in-services; complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service.
Primary Responsibilities include performance of the following procedures: Adult Echocardiography, Stress/Echo tests. Additional responsibilities include maintaining work logs, working closely with physicians to ensure protocols are established and met, and providing preliminary reports.
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Training
Graduate of an accredited program for training for Echocardiogram Technology and licensure as required by the State of South Carolina and other applicable credentialing and licensing authorities.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education
RDCS required
Basic Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
