Job Responsibilities

About Coastal Regional Center
Coastal Center is a residential facility of the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The Center serves residents of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Under the direct supervision of Food Service Director. Incumbent will provide general supervision of tray-line employees. Performs general food service/warehouse duties at Coastal Center.

1. Assists in preparing of food, diet textures, snacks and diet slips for clients as indicated by physician's orders.

2. Supervise and assist in the production of consumer's meal trays ensuring health and safety guidelines are met.

3. Conforms to required food preparation and cleaning standards as directed by both State and Federal requirements.

4. Assist in dish room running trays through dish machine after meals and ensure cleanliness of trays.

5. Assist with washing pots, pans, glasses, plates, trays, etc.

6. Assist with capping and strapping of food trays on tray line.

7. Assist in warehouse putting away food/sundries as directed by warehouse supervisor.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

There are no minimum training and experience requirements for this class.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution and serving of food products. Knowledge of dietetic principles involved in planning and reviewing menus for nutritional adequacy, dietary balance and attractiveness of prepared food products. Knowledge of the methods, materials and appliances used in a bakery. Ability to teach food preparation and cooking. Ability to maintain food service records and prepare written reports.
