Position Summary:


The Mental Health/Behavioral Security Technician works in harmony
with the nursing staff to provide care for our patients. They monitor patients that are deemed by
hospital staff to qualify for inpatient treatment services. The Mental Health/Behavioral Security
Technician ensures the safety of patients and those in proximity. In addition, the Mental Health/Behavioral
Security Technician is responsible for:


  • Monitoring patient interactions, safety, and
    providing therapeutic assistance

  • Monitors equipment, the environment, and
    ensures potentially dangerous conditions are mitigated immediately

  • Uses verbal and physical techniques to
    de-escalate or intervene during crisis

  • Assists with maintaining medical records

  • Provides clerical support

  • Direct patient care

  • Assists in patient data collection

  • Performs medical procedures under the
    direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications


  • High
    school diploma or equivalent required

  • Current,
    valid CPR/BLS Certification

  • Minimum of
    one-year experience working directly with the mentally ill and/or
    substance addicted population (preferred)

  • Reliable
    transportation required
