Job Summary/Purpose:
The purpose of this arrangement will be to provide after hours on-call coverage for the Department of Pediatrics/Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics (CAP) as a Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (P-SANE).
The P-SANE RN provides timely and compassionate care to pediatric and, adolescent sexual assault victims. These responsibilities include triage, forensic examination, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, and support and participation in legal proceedings. The P-SANE RN works under the direction of the P-SANE Program Coordinator and follows established protocols.
Required Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and one year related nursing experience. Pediatric experience preferred. Licensure as RN by the South Carolina Board of Β Nursing.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current South Carolina RN License and BLS required.

Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as . Β Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Β Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36β to overhead 25 lbs.Β Β Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
