Primary Function/General Purpose of PositionΒ Β 

Assist the staff by performing clerical and patient care duties under the direction of an RN. Maintain and update patient records in a timely, orderly manner. Acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival to unit and demonstrate enthusiastic friendly approach.Β 

Essential Job FunctionsΒ Β 

  • ​Performs delegated direct patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse.Β 

  • Reports conditions of patients including changes or abnormal findings to appropriate registered nurse.Β 

  • Documents VS and ADLs concurrently in appropriate format and notifies RN/LPN with abnormal variations.Β 

  • Provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity, acknowledges patient rights, and identifies resources to meet patient needs.Β 

  • Acts as a patient advocate.Β 

  • Correctly and efficiently transcribes physician orders to include computer order entry.Β 

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, core measures, infection prevention, patient safety and quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes.Β 

  • Maintains a well-organized workstation and provides an environment that is conducive to workflow.Β Β 

  • Maintains medical record in appropriate order.Β

Licensing/CertificationΒ 

  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant preferred.Β Β 

  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification Card.Β 

Education/Work ExperienceΒ 

One of the following must be met:Β 

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing course or a Nursing Assistant Program.Β 

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Neither HS Diploma nor GED .Β 

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have experience as a patient care technician in an acute care setting or nursing home; or experience with direct patient care (vitals and ADL job duties) in an assisted living facility.Β 

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and a current Roper St. Francis teammate.Β Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.Β 

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination and have a current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).Β Β Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.Β 

  • Currently enrolled in or graduate of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree program (in any field) with no experience requirement.Β Β Must successfully complete the RSF PCT Training Program upon hire.Β
