Job Responsibilities


With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Charleston-Dorchester office, 2125 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414.

Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to:

Under the team leader, this clinician will be responsible for answering incoming crisis calls, and providing telephonic crisis intervention services, collaborating with 988/911, screening and consulting in a culturally competent manner for the Mobile Crisis Call Center.

Improve/follow communication, collaboration, and procedures in support of emergency services continuum of care.

Demonstrates recognition of importance of collaboration and teamwork within the Center and Community.

Operates in an efficient and organized manner.




Minimum and Additional Requirements


MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

State Minimum Requirements:
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Β 
Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:
A Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.

Preferred Qualifications


Ability to multi-task and work as a team in a call center which may include triaging, de-escalating, dispatching mobile crisis teams across the state of South Carolina. Demonstrate the ability to assist with determining ways to better collaborate with 911 and 988 from a front-line perspective. Able to make suggestions with management to improve communication and collaboration, and procedures in support of emergency services continuum of care.Β Β
