Job Description Summary: Join our team at Engineered Systems as a Welder-Fitter, where you'll be welding, fitting, and fabricating steel components for overhead bridge cranes. This role involves reading engineering drawings, assembling parts, and ensuring high-quality welds in various positions. Job Duties and Tasks:

  1. Understand and Plan: Read and interpret engineering drawings to plan your work.

  2. Assemble and Secure: Use tools like tape measures and squares to position and secure parts.

  3. Cutting: Use various cutting tools like saws and torches to shape materials.

  4. Adjust Equipment: Set up welding equipment to get the right flame or arc.

  5. Welding: Tack-weld or fully weld parts using different welding techniques.

  6. Versatile Welding: Weld in different positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.

  7. Smooth Finishes: Use grinders to remove rough spots and sharp edges.

  8. Inspect Work: Check welds and measurements to ensure quality.

  9. Documentation: Complete quality documents and update drawings.

  10. Maintain Cleanliness: Keep your work area clean and maintain tools.

  11. Teamwork: Work efficiently with a partner to meet deadlines.

  12. Safety and Quality: Follow all safety rules and quality standards.

  13. Freight Handling: Load and unload materials as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  1. Welding Experience: Familiarity with MIG and FCAW welding techniques.

  2. Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.

  3. Material Knowledge: Understanding of raw materials and fitting techniques.

  4. Measurement Skills: Ability to identify and measure materials accurately.

  5. Equipment Operation: Safe operation of cranes and forklifts.

  6. Tool Knowledge: Understanding of various machines and tools.

  7. Blueprint Reading: Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.

  8. Instruction Following: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  9. Math Skills: Basic shop math and conversion skills.

  10. Quality Focus: Consistently produce high-quality work.

  11. Reliability: Strong work ethic and dependability.

  12. Team and Solo Work: Ability to work well both independently and in a team.

  13. Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods.
