General Definition of Work
The Art Teacher plans and delivers engaging visual arts instruction for students in grades
4Kβ8, fostering creativity and self-expression. The teacher supports studentsβ artistic development by integrating age-appropriate techniques, art history, and cross-curricular connections. The Art Teacher monitors student progress, activities, and learning outcomes, addressing individual student needs as appropriate. Additionally, the teacher maintains a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment and communicates regularly with students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required
Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision
Innovative, creative and self-motivated
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with elementary and middle school students preferred
Cooperative, able to work with supervising teachers and other staff members
Skill in interpersonal relations with pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the general public
Outstanding references from current and former supervisors
Satisfactory SLED (SC Law Enforcement Division) reportΒ
