Position Summary:

Infintium Fuel Cell Systems, Inc. is developing next-generation small and medium hydrogen fuel cell systems in the Greenville, SC area. We are currently seeking an Assembly Team Lead who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities, training and developing operators, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the assembly process. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on promoting teamwork and achieving production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor team members on-site during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics, manufacturing, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure operators are staying on task and completing units timely and accurately.  Assembly Team Lead should seek guidance from the Production Manager if needed to always keep operators productive. 
  • Assist in moving products through the production process using a forklift.
  • Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards and meet production deadlines.
  • Assist individual work cells in subassembly and assembly to ensure production targets are met.
  • In conjunction with the Production Manager, assign operators to various tasks to promote cross training.
  • Positively motivate team members to enhance production quality and at the same time maintain high quality standards.
  • In conjunction with the Production Manager, assist with the creation of the production schedule and the execution of the schedule.
  • Work as a middle person between employees and management to create and foster a positive work environment.
  • Inform Production Manager as needed of performance issues or training gaps to improve the process.
  • Regularly discuss with Production Manager issues that arise within the department to address issues impacting production.
  • Ensure that work materials are present and escalate as needed to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed for troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • Must be able to communicate in group settings such as shift meetings as well as with all levels of management including but not limited senior leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years in battery manufacturing or related assembly work.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or technical training preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced understanding of assembly processes and safety protocols.
    • Ability to read, follow, and update work instructions as needed.
    • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and manual dexterity.
    • Ability to lead by example and motivate employees in a positive manner.
    • Proficient in computer software including but not limited to Excel and Word.
    • Proficient with basic hand tools and power tools with a high mechanical aptitude.
    • Experience in continuous improvement projects.
    • Strong organization & communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to function with minimal supervision
    • Experience in either the automotive or transportation assembly sector.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
    • Must be able to work overtime as needed and be able to come in early or stay late to have the shift set up for the next workday.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.
  • OSHA safety training or equivalent certifications.

 

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk for the duration of the shift.  The employe frequently is required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
