Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cashiers process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Checkers understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, complex loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Checker needs to understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cashier needs to understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follow established policies and procedures (where applicable) for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.



Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:聽
  • Customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
