Job Overview

The Data Entry Technician primarily is focused on communicating with our physician practices and customers. You will be processing prescriptions and payments for orders in a timely and effective manner before sending them to the pharmacist for disbursement to production or the laboratory.  This is a full-time position based at our Carolina Park or Seaside Farms location.

Compensation based on experience and credentials

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Key prescription orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Accurately gather and review customer’s billing/shipping information before an order is keyed.
• Responsible for contacting physician offices and patients to review and update their profile and insurance.
• Promptly responds to all customer inquiries and re-directs to applicable departments as needed.
• Promptly handle and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
• Urgently communicate with customers when orders have been delayed, cancelled or interrupted.
• Communicate payment requirements.
• Maintains compliance with company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.
• Manage the SweetSync medication refill synchronization program. 
• May work in different areas of the pharmacy such as retail production, laboratory or cashier when needed.
• Other Duties As Assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years related experience 
• State Pharmacy Technician Registration required
• CPhT State Certification Required
• Independent Pharmacy preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to ensure accuracy of entering patient information
• Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues.
• Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• Pharmacy Software – Pioneer a plus
• Ability to learn new software and programs (SweetSync)
• Ability to be coached
