As the Director of Building Codes, you will safeguard the integrity and safety of Laurens County鈥檚 infrastructure by ensuring all construction meets rigorous state and local standards. You are the primary advocate for public safety, leading a dedicated team to manage code enforcement and inspections that directly impact the growth and well-being of our community.
路 Team Leadership: Plan, delegate, and supervise staff duties to ensure the fair and equal application of all codes and ordinances.
路 Comprehensive Inspections: Conduct and oversee field inspections for residential, commercial, and industrial facilities to verify compliance with fire, building, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical regulations.
路 Technical Plan Review: Analyze industrial, institutional, and commercial plans to ensure code conformance and site plan requirements, including rights-of-way and buffer yards.
路 Enforcement & Resolution: Manage enforcement problems, issue corrective action or stop-work orders, and testify in court regarding code violation cases.
路 Public Consultation: Serve as a professional liaison for developers, engineers, and citizens to resolve complaints and provide expert guidance on construction standards.
