Description

Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning & maintaining departmental budgets.
Responsible for enforcement of Emergency Management Emergency Preparedness Staffing Plan.
Ensure competencies & established protocols are updated & efficient.
Ensure the performance of duties of the staff meet criteria & standards set forth by regulatory agencies.
Ensures daily departmental charges for Respiratory are accurate & complete.
Holds staff meetings to provide feedback to staff regarding Department Directors Meeting, new policies, or other changes, etc.
Ensures staff scheduling that is fair & equitable as possible for staff & that meets the needs of departments.
Ensures training for staff on equipment with documentation for educational purposes.
Plans, directs & supervises all technical aspects of the department regarding services, programs & evaluations of such programs.
Monitors & maintains equipment & supplies needed by staff to ensure quality & safe patient care.
Assists in training of staff for DNV & other training with attention to departmental policy & procedures.
Responsible for completion of staff performance evaluations.
Exercises sound clinical judgment & assessment skills to provide appropriate provision of patient care & monitoring &
communication of information to other caregivers.
Participates in all aspects of RC educational activities & departmental meetings.
Ensures all Emergency Alerts are responded to in a timely manner.
Asses the need for respiratory equipment & supplies for quality patient care.
Perform all other duties as they relate to this position.

Qualifications:
5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
Prefer supervisory or management experience.
Participation in the National Board for Respiratory Care’s (NBRC) continuing Competency Program to maintain credential if received credential after July 1, 2002
Associate in Respiratory Care, BS in related field or appropriate demonstrated experience equivalent to degree.
BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS required
