Position Overview:

Lancaster County Name is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Grants Coordinator to oversee and manage the County’s internal grants administration process. This position plays a critical role in supporting departments throughout the grant lifecycle - ensuring compliance, consistency, and coordination from application through closeout and serves as a liaison between the County and external funding agencies.

As a centralized resource, the Grants Coordinator will help ensure that grant-funded initiatives are implemented effectively, deadlines and reporting requirements are met, and interdepartmental grant activity is aligned with County policies and grantor expectations.

Examples of Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as department’s point of contact for grant-related activities.
  • Support departments in navigating the grant process, including application review, budget alignment, and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal grant procedures, templates, and tracking tools to ensure consistency and accountability across departments.
  • Coordinate the review and approval process for all grant-related proposals and documentation.
  • Monitor active grants to ensure adherence to regulations, deadlines, and performance milestones.
  • Work closely with departmental staff to track expenditures, reconcile grant financial activity, and support departments in preparation of required financial reports.
  • Maintain a centralized database of active and closed grants, including key dates, deliverables, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide training and assistance to County staff engaged in grant-related work.
Assist in the development of County-wide grant policies and recommend improvements to support transparency and sustainability

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in grants management, administration, or compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of grant regulations, budgeting, and post-award reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across departments and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with grant management or financial reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in local government or a comparable public agency.
  • Familiarity with 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and other federal compliance frameworks.
