This position monitors participants in the Wellness Center, to ensure a safe exercising environment and assists in customer service relations in the Center. Β This includes, but is not limited to coordinating and implementing fitness related programs and activities, responding to memberβs needs, providing membership information to current and potential patrons, provides members with instruction for exercise programs and equipment use, as well as the supervision of member activity and conduct while in the facility; and performs related work as required. Β The incumbent works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
The work is considered light in nature and involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy. The work requires the following physical abilities to perform the essential job functions: crouching, fingering, mental acuity, reaching, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
Work environment may involve exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, traffic, toxic/caustic chemicals, violence; and is dynamic that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.Β
