Job Summary:

Lake Wylie High School is seeking an experienced and motivated JV Head Coach for our Girl's Volleyball program. The successful candidate will promote positive team culture, and develop student-athletes both on and off the court.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, organize, and supervise practices, and competitions.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive program aligned with the school’s athletic philosophy.

• Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and character development among student-athletes.

• Manage and mentor assistant coaches.

• Oversee athlete eligibility, safety, and compliance with district, state, and SCHSL regulations.

• Coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, equipment, facilities, and program needs.

• Engage with the school community, parents, and boosters to build support for the program.

Qualifications:

• Previous successful coaching experience.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to motivate student-athletes and foster a positive culture.

• Knowledge of rules, strategies, and safety standards.

• Must meet all district and SCHSL coaching certification and background check requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move quickly and frequently around athletic fields, courts, gyms, and locker rooms to supervise and instruct students.
• Ability to remain standing for extended periods while observing, demonstrating techniques, and coaching during practices and games.
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, running, and other athletic movements to demonstrate skills or assist athletes.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull athletic equipment, gear bags, and training supplies.
• Exposure to indoor gym conditions, and moderate to high noise levels during athletic events.
• Ability to travel with teams to competitions, which may include nights and weekends.

Evaluation: Performance of the JV COACH position will be evaluated annually by the Varsity Coach, Athletic Director, and reviewed by the Principal.

Compensation: Supplement based on the current Clover School District coaching supplement allotment for each sport.
