Position Summary:
Β
The Varsity High School Volleyball Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the varsity volleyball program. This includes planning and conducting practices, coaching student-athletes during competition, fostering sportsmanship, and supporting the academic and personal development of student-athletes in alignment with school and district values.
Plan, organize, and conduct effective daily practices and competitive strategies.
Coach student-athletes in volleyball fundamentals, skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
Lead and manage the varsity volleyball team during contests, including pre-game preparation and post-game review.
Promote good sportsmanship, character development, and respect among student-athletes.
Collaborate with athletic administration regarding scheduling, transportation, equipment, and facilities.
Ensure compliance with school, district, state athletic association, and conference rules and regulations.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, athletic staff, and school administration.
Support the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
Supervise assistant coaches and support staff as assigned.
Maintain accurate records related to attendance, eligibility, inventory, and participation.
Model professional conduct and serve as a positive role model at all times.
Participate in required meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
Assist with off-season conditioning, open gyms, or player development opportunities as permitted.
High school diploma required; bachelorβs degree preferred.
Prior volleyball playing and/or coaching experience at the high school or higher level preferred.
Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and safety procedures.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
Completion of all district and state coaching requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Supplemental - Based on the current Clover School District coaching supplement allotment for each sport.

Performance of the HeadΒ Coach position will be evaluated annually by the Athletic Director & Principal.
