Description

Purpose:Β 

In the Role of Kitchen Utility Worker, you will help serve meals and clear/wash dishes from residents' tables following QSL procedures.


Relationships

1. Collaborations with following people:


A. Community Staff

B. Residents, family members and support groups

C. Federal, County, State and City Officials

D. Participates on committees and task teams as directed by supervisor


Qualifications

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • General Knowledge of Cleaning and Sanitation
  • General Knowledge of safe food-handling practices
  • Effective Communication skills in English
  • Ability and willing to follow standards and procedures, accepts direction & training and works as part of a team


Areas of Responsibility


a. Prepare, wash and store dishes following QSLM Procedures. Also includes cleaning the dishwasher area, food serving areas, and equipment, dining room tables and chairs and vacuum and cleaning the dining room area. Complete Dishwasher log at required times.


b. Assist in the setup of serving carts for each meal, to include preparing water carafes and distribute to each table, serve hot cereal at breakfast and bread at lunch/dinner, help serve meals to resident tables and deliver trays to resident rooms when necessary.


c. Assist with preparations as assigned and work as part of the Food Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen.


d. As needed assist with putting away deliveries, set dining tables for next meal


e. May perform other duties as needed or assigned


f. Adheres and supports the policies and procedures of QSL ManagementΒ 


g. Maintains a working knowledge and demonstrates acceptable performance skills in :


1. Resident rights and responsibilitiesΒ 

2. Respect resident belongings

3. Respect resident privacy

4. Respect resident religious beliefs

5. Respect interpersonal relationships with family and other staff members

Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
  • communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with residents, staff, and vendors
  • able to follow standards and procedures and accept direction and training as part of a team.Β
