Description

Myrtle Beach Manor is seeking a Maintenance Tech /Facilities Assistant to join their team!ย 

Shift Details - Full Time

PURPOSE

The Facilities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Facilities Director in the overall maintenance and upkeep of the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with minor repairs; collaborating in the identification, inventory and repairs as required of both large, small and on-going maintenance projects.ย 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย 

Facility Servicesย 

  • Review the maintenance log daily and complete any task which are in the scope of your job duties (initial and date each task as completed)ย 
  • Conduct inspections of furniture and providing appropriate maintenance and schedule detail cleanings with vendorsย 
  • Complete minor repairs such as replacement of faucet washers and spindles, faulty window latches, broken tank toilet handles, unplugging clogged toilets and drains, changing light bulbs, tightening loose hinges or door mechanisms, diagnostic & repair of stand-alone saflok door lock units i.e. batteries replacement and general maintenanceย 
  • Perform task that involve hanging of bulletin boards, pictures, coat hooks and necessary items in residentโ€™s suites and associateโ€™s officesย 
  • Acts as the liaison with respect to the Facilities Director, Executive Director and external vendorsย 
  • Responsible for touch up paint jobs, furniture refinishing, furniture moving, transportation of extraneous materials for elimination to proper sitesย 
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixturesย 
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpetย 
  • Make adjustments to heating cooling and ventilation system which may include changing filtersย 
  • Gather and empty trashย 
  • Remove debris from outdoor porches, parking lot and dumpster areaย 
  • Replace light bulbs throughout the communityย 
  • Notify supervisor, by documenting in the maintenance log, concerning the need for major repairs or additions to the building operating systemsย 


Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION

  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED requiredย 
  • One (1) year job related experienceย 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of infection control proceduresย 
  • Demonstrate the ability to Multi task and Manage Stressย 
  • Understands and embraces the assisted living philosophyย 
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available for our customers at peak service delivery days and timesย 
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communicationย 
  • Demonstrating tact and a helpful attitude are necessary pre-requisites for a customer-service oriented environmentย
