Qualification Highlights

β€’ Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans. β€’ Must have all Knowledge Skills and Abilities required (see below). β€’ Must be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on an insulating project. β€’ Must be able to meet all physical requirements. β€’ Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations. β€’ Must have all required tools. β€’ Must have reliable transportation.

Position Responsibilities

Β β€’ Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. β€’ Identify all tools required and materials for tasks. β€’ Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. β€’ Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications. β€’ Measure, mark, and cut required insulation to required specifications. β€’ Fabrication, fit, and/or shape insulating material or covering around equipment for protection. β€’ Identify and mix paint and coatings as required. β€’ Know the proper use and techniques required to place or replace insulation. β€’ Will work at heights and off ladders and scaffolds safely. β€’ Clean up work areas.Β 

Required Qualifications

Β β€’ Must have 4+ years working as a Multicraft worker on an industrial construction project. β€’ Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties. β€’ Must have knowledge on the different types of insulation and their applications. β€’ Must know how to handle and place insulation around or on equipment, ducting, or piping. β€’ Must have reliable transportation. β€’ Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification. β€’ Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations. β€’ Must follow all company and site rules and regulations. Must have required tools.
β€’ Construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood and metal
β€’ Construct stairs and walkways
β€’ Read and interpret prints, drawings and plans
β€’ Experience with hand and power tools to: layout, measure, mark, cut and arrange material
β€’ Perform crane/rigging hand signals when applicable
β€’ Other duties as assigned
β€’ Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
β€’ Identify and mix paint and coatings as required.
β€’ Know the proper use and techniques (stroke types) required per the paint/coating used and the item being painted or coated.
β€’ Must be able to work at heights and off ladders and scaffolds safely.
β€’ Housekeeping/Cleanup work areas.Β 

Preferred Additional Qualifications

Β β€’ Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee. β€’ Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc. β€’ National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Insulator. β€’ Formal/Technical education. β€’ Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting.

Physical Requirements

Β β€’ Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. β€’ Will talk and hear to communicate. β€’ Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools. β€’ May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs. β€’ Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
β€’ Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots.Β
