Position Summary:Β Responsible for maintaining the Safety and Security of The Cypress residents, visitors, employees, and facility property.

Job Description:Β Β
- Follows the prescribed duty schedule and notes deviations on the Daily Shift Report.
- Exercises perception and detection skills during patrol tours to identify safety violations, and other deviations from the normal surroundings.
- Completes the Daily Shift Reports with accurate information and specifies the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How when documenting the precise account of any incident or activity.Β Ensures that correct grammar and spelling is used on reports.
- Maintain the door locking schedule.
- Ensures that proper identification is verified and documented when unlocking a restricted area.
- Maintain self control and professionalism when faced with stressful and/or combative situations, and offers appropriate resolutions to problems.
- Keeps abreast of and strictly adheres to all facility and departmental policies and procedures in aΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β manner that reflects a positive image of The Cypress.
- Shared information is read, initialed, and passed on appropriately.
- Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
- Radio transmissions are brief, concise, and professional and exact, and proper procedures, codes, and language is utilized.
- Issues notices of parking violations, documents appropriately, and reports these violations to the Plant Director/Assistant Plant Director.
- Drives The Cypress vehicles in a conservative, safe manner.
- Cooperated with management and reflects a positive attitude.
- Has working knowledge of contents and procedures in the Emergency Procedure Manual.
- Performs parking and traffic control as needed.
- Deliver newspaper, packages and inter-office correspondence as directed.
- Operate the Simplex computer fire and emergency pull cord system.
- Ensures suspicious persons on the premises are identified.Β
- Ensures and maintains the integrity and security of the Facility via Patrol Tours.
- Responds to pull cords, fire alarms and emergency calls in a timely manner and according to established policies and procedures.
- Understands the responsibility to report suspected violations of The Cypress Code of Conduct to appropriate persons, or to The Cypress Compliance Hotline, or by completing a Written Report of Suspected Compliance Violation, or by contacting the Corporate Compliance Officer directly.
- Takes appropriate precautions to avoid job related injuries and complies with injury reporting guidelines.
- Actively participates in safety programs and complies with The Cypress Club policies and procedures.
- Looks for ways to continuously improve safety forΒ members, staff and visitors.
- Embraces The Cypress Hospitality Promises daily.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform light maintenance as time allows, such as changing light bulbs or unclogging commodes, and all other minor repairs per resident request during times when the Plant Department is closed.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Maintains a current and valid SC Driver's License.
- Call personnel as needed during emergency conditions.
- Attends required mandatory in-services and web-based compliance training as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:Β High school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:Β Β Must possess and maintain in good standing, a current and valid SC driver's license.Β
